'The 'Tage'
'The 'Tage'. King Alfred, Wantage Market Place
£26.95
I created this print in the style of the 1930's GWR Travel posters.
It shows a stylised version of King Alfred in the market place at Wantage in Oxfordshire. The print is over simplified, very much in the style of those golden era posters and this makes it both modern and, at the same time, harking back to what many consider a golden age of British travel advertising.
The print is called The 'Tage: Wantage without the 'Wan', as many locals refer to the famous Shire town. As I spent my formative years in the place, it seemed a fun and creative 'nod' to the old stomping ground of my youth and the many friends that still live there.
The image you see on screen has a watermark across it to protect my copyright. The image you will receive will not have the watermark.
